A factual record of what people have seen and filmed.
The Alien Archive is a public database of UFO and UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) sightings documented through video evidence. We do not speculate, editorialize, or promote any particular theory. We collect, organize, and present what has been recorded — chronologically, by location, and by credibility.
Our Mission
Governments around the world have acknowledged the existence of unidentified aerial phenomena they cannot explain. The U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, and intelligence agencies have released footage and reports confirming encounters their own pilots and sensors could not identify.
Yet most public coverage of the topic remains sensationalized, scattered, or buried in noise. The Alien Archive exists to change that — a single, organized, searchable record of documented sightings, maintained with the same discipline you'd expect from any serious research archive.
No speculation. No agenda. No invented details. Just a factual, chronological record of what people around the world have witnessed and captured on camera.
How We Source Content
Content enters the archive through four channels. All automated discoveries pass through a multi-stage quality filter and require manual moderator approval before appearing in the public feed.
YouTube
Automated daily search via YouTube Data API v3. Results are pre-filtered by title pattern matching, then passed through an LLM relevance filter before entering the moderation queue.
User Submissions
Direct video uploads and source URL submissions from site visitors. All user-submitted content enters the pending queue for manual review.
UAP and UFO subreddits are monitored for video posts. Same filtering pipeline as YouTube applies.
Curated Seeds
A hand-verified list of historically significant UAP footage — including declassified military recordings — is periodically ingested to ensure foundational coverage.
Credibility Scoring
Each sighting is assigned an initial credibility score (0–100) by our AI enrichment system, based on source type, corroboration, and footage characteristics. Community members can adjust this score up or down on individual sighting pages.
Official government or military footage, FOIA-released material, or corroborated multi-witness events with verified provenance.
Civilian footage with multiple corroborating witnesses, reported to official bodies, or covered by credible news outlets with original video.
Single-source civilian footage, no independent corroboration. May be genuine but cannot be confirmed.
Footage with signs of editing, inconsistent physics, or strong contextual indicators of staging or CGI.
Verification Statuses
Confirmed by official government or military sources, or definitively corroborated through multiple independent channels.
Reviewed and entered into the archive. Cannot be confirmed or debunked with available evidence.
Recently submitted or discovered. Awaiting review by archive moderators before public classification.
Evidence strongly indicates a conventional explanation — misidentified aircraft, weather phenomena, CGI, or confirmed hoax.
What We Don't Do
- We do not claim that any sighting is extraterrestrial in origin.
- We do not publish sightings without a verifiable video source.
- We do not editorialize headlines or descriptions to maximize clicks.
- We do not allow CGI, fictional films, animation, or clearly staged content.
- We do not assign political or ideological meaning to documented phenomena.
Editorial & Verification Methodology
Every candidate sighting follows the same pipeline before it is eligible for the public feed. Automated sources are scanned on a recurring schedule and pre-filtered by title and metadata patterns that are commonly associated with AI-generated media, talking-head commentary, news-studio packages, and compilations.
Surviving candidates then pass a vision-based review of the video's cover image, which rejects synthetic or CGI covers, podcast and reaction thumbnails, and obvious clickbait frames before any record is created. Embeddability is checked against the source platform so that footage which cannot be watched on the archive is never displayed.
New records enter a pending moderation queue for review. A second analysis pass assigns an initial verification status and credibility score based on source type, corroboration, and footage characteristics. Moderators retain the ability to confirm, reclassify, or remove any record at any time.
The archive records only what is documented in the source — its date, location, the description provided, and its origin. It does not assert the nature, origin, or authenticity of any sighting. Credibility scores reflect the weight of available evidence and may be adjusted by the community on each sighting's page.
Standards & Methodology
The research desk keeps documented facts, witness claims, disputed accounts, folklore, and speculation in separate categories, on the page and in the language used. The full standards and methodology are set out on the Editorial Standards and Sources & Methodology pages.
Read the Editorial Desk
Beyond the raw video record, the Alien Archive publishes long-form, factual editorial — analysis of government UAP footage, the methodology for separating genuine sightings from hoaxes and CGI, and historical case studies of the most documented encounters on record, from Kenneth Arnold's 1947 sighting to the Pentagon videos of 2020.
